Mohammad Jalali is an Associate Professor in Harvard Medical School based at MGH Institute for technology assessment. Mohammad is also a research affiliate and senior lecturer at MIT Sloan’s System Dynamics Group and a faculty affiliate with the Harvard Data Science Initiative. He uses data science and simulation-based approaches to help policymakers identify and develop high-leverage policies that not only are effective over the long haul but also are not thwarted by unanticipated side effects. Since 2019, Mohammad has received over $6 million in grant funding, and his work has been featured by The New York Times, Washington Post, and many more. He has been a reviewer for the National Science Foundation, an associate editor for System Dynamics Review, academic editor for PLOS ONE, and editor for the Journal on Policy and Complex Systems.

Dr Nadina Galle is a National Geographic Explorer for the National Geographic Society in Latin America. Dr Galle is the recipient of a storytelling grant to pursue stories on the “Internet of Nature” (IoN) across Latin America. She has over a decade of experience in academia across four continents and has delivered keynotes, moderate global events and launched products at the nexus of nature, people and technology. Dr Galle’s work has featured in documentaries produced by BBC Earth and on multiple British, Irish, and Dutch radio shows. She has also authored a book titled The Nature of Our Cities: Harnessing the Power of the Natural World to Survive a Changing Planet.

Prof. Nadja Kabisch is the Professor for Digital Landscape Ecology  in the Institute of Physical Geography and Landscape Ecology at the University of Hannover. Nadja has a wide focus in research and teaching including research in landscape ecology, population geography and health geography among many more. She is a member of the International Association of People and Environment Studies (IAPS) and an Associate Editor for the Journal Urban Forestry and Urban Greening and Urban Transformations. Nadja has a strong educational background with a PhD in Geography from the Martin-Luther University from University Halle-Wittenberg.

Professor Niamh Cahill is a Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Maynooth. Her research ethos is to develop statistical models that will help address problems relating to societal and environmental concerns.  One aspect of her research specifically focuses on the development of statistical models to assess and interpret indicators of climate change including sea-level change and sea-level extremes. As well as this, she works on the statistical analysis of population-level health trends, specifically family-planning indicators, on a national and sub-national level, with a focus on the world’s poorest countries. Assessing progress towards meeting family planning targets and goals, including those associated with contraceptive use is crucial to meeting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to health (Goal 3) and gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Niamh is a PhD student at the University College Cork with work experience in clinical mental health facilities. Niamh was a research assistant at the Douglas Mental Health Institute with particular focus in stress, coping,  mental health, and was involved with projects relating to the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder. She has a large amount of education with a MSc in Psychiatry from McGill University and a BSc in Psychology from the University of Limerick.

Dr. Ollie Bartlett joined the School of Law and Criminology in 2018 and is currently an Assistant Professor. He is a graduate of Durham University with a PhD in Law. Ollie’s research focuses on public health governance, and he is particularly interested in EU health law and policy, alcohol policy, the right to health, and the ethics of public health law. Ollie’s work draws together legal, political, scientific and ethical knowledge to assess the role of law in addressing contemporary public health issues, and he often collaborates with researchers outside the legal discipline.
